  • A smoke alarm can save your life
  • Check proper operation once a month and replace the battery
  • Install a portable fire extinguisher, type ABC in the kitchen.
  • Use a thermostatically controlled fryer
  • Put the smokers out of the reach of children
  • Never smoke in bed!
  • Store flammable liquids away from heat sources
  • Fuel Tanks and propane must be stored outside

In case of fire:

  • CALL 9-1-1
  • Use an extinguisher only if it is a fire
  • Close doors and windows to prevent the spread
  • Do not enter a room if the door is hot
  • Take out calmly and quickly all the occupants of the home.
  • If the fire starts at night, wrap yourself in blankets
  • Go to your outdoor gathering place
  • In no case should you go back inside
  • If you are unable to get out, lock up and close the door
  • Lie on the floor, place a damp cloth over your mouth, take cover near windows and signal your presence.
